Event Details: |
The Stolen Sisters Awareness Walk (formerly known as the Stolen Sisters Awareness March) was created to raise awareness to the disproportionate number of missing and murdered Metis, Inuit, and First Nations women.
We are planning our 2nd Annual Stolen Sisters Awareness Walk for Saturday, May 10th, 2008. It will be held at the Edmonton Canadian Native Friendship Centre (11205-101 Street).
Opening Ceremonies will begin at 11:00 am. The walk will commence at 12:00 pm. Lunch will be served.
We want the violence to stop! We want the missing to be found! We want to walk safely and with dignity in our communities! We want justice!

The walk is from the St. Regis hotel to Portage Ave/Main St/Forks where we conclude with tea & bannock; speakers and speeches. There will t-shirt sales: $20.00 . Come and join us in remembering Aboriginal murdered/missing women. The ASC will presenting hundreds of post cards we collected over the duration of the school term! |
